Pranayama is a variety of yogic breathing practices strengthening the respiratory system, improving the immunity and positively affecting the different levels of consciousness.
For thousands of years, great yogis have been using the power of breath to improve their physical, mental, and emotional well-being. It has never been more important to benefit from these ancient secrets of effectively strengthening our immunity – in natural ways, with no external factors needed. Smooth flow of energy through our subtle meridians is the key to health and inner harmony. The one and only way in which we can affect the flow of energy through our physical and subtle bodies is our breath.
What you'll learn:
This course will cover theory and practice of advanced breathing techniques and a variety of pranayama protocol, based on ancient scriptures.
The ten hours course will cover:
- What is pranayama?
- Benefits and contra-indications of pranayama practice in day-to-day life,
- How to practice these in day-to-day life,
- Therapeutic application of pranayama
- Theoretical tenets of pranayama as per Patanjala Yoga Sutra
- Basic outline of Shuddhi Kriyas (the purificatory actions) before pranayama as per Hatha yoga texts
- The eight traditional Kumbhakas (breathing techniques) of traditional Hatha yoga texts
- Insight into associated application of Mudras, Bandhas and Kriyas
- Kumbhaka or holding of breath inside and outside

Details of programme:
10 hours total, one hour session each containing both theory and practice of traditional pranayama techniques
All sessions will be conducted via Zoom.

Additional 30 min for any last clarification or questions
Note:
1. Faculty will allocate extra time for Q&A and clarifying doubts during the weekend of Jan 30-31, post the class timings.
2. All sessions will be recorded and available to participants to watch in case they missed sessions or they are not able to join because of time difference.
Logistics:
All classes would be conducted Live via Zoom. Recordings would be available for 3 months after the course, in case any classes are missed or for additional reference.
Zoom details will be shared after registration and payment for the course is done and closer to the date of the course start.

- A quiet indoor space without distractions
- Willingness to give your full attention to your breath (silence your cell phones!) for the duration of each session
